Behind the scenes of ACB

Hey guys,

I'm just finishing uploading now. I'd like to talk about today and how the ACB video was made, a sort of 'Behind the scenes of ACB' if you will.

Okay, so a while ago I made the decision that when we made our next ACB it was gonna be scripted by me. (This is the first video that has had any form of script other than us just emailing ideas or reactions or whatever.)

I'm gonna put the script below in case your interested.

So, at 11:45AM (mine and Chris' time) I recieved an email from Bill. Basically he was informing us that ACB was tagged in this game. I started working on a script believing that we were working with the old nerimon 'five things' game. That turned out to be incorrect but rather than scrap the idea, we created a work around.

Chris made a couple of edits to the script (as did Bill) and then Bill sent me his part at about 3PM.

That surprised me. It was so fast! Its what I love about working on ACB is most of time we are quick and reliable. So I went and filmed my bit and Chris got his in about an hour later.

I hadnt asked them to make it today, they just did!

So I said I wanted to edit as well (may as well) I thought, so Bill sent me the intro and outro stuff and I set to work.

It took me longer than usual because I was doing it on Final Cut a program I dont use as much. Having said that, it took longer but it enabled me to do some things that I would have found virtually impossible on iMovie.

So at about 8:30 I finished, and started exporting in a ridiculously big file format. I went on a run. I got back and it was finished. The file was 500MB. I figured I would try and convert it but it degreded the quality too much. So I decided to simply upload it.

So here I am, 10 seconds till the vid finishes uploading.

Yup. Video just finished. Now YouTube does processing which can take anywhere from 10 seconds to 10 hours. (or more!)

I don't want to over hype todays video, but usually I feel like my collab work is WORK and my personal stuff is for fun, but today I really felt like we made a fun cool video, and killed a lazy sunday.

BILL
So ACB got tagged.

Freeze on Bill's face, record scratch sound.

ALI
Wait wait wait, is that game really
still going?

BILL
Yup.

CHRIS
So I guess that means we gotta make
a video.

BILL
Yup.

CHRIS
Fine then.

(Feel free to improv on this bit guys)

CHRIS
Fact: ACB stands for All Cows Barf

BILL
Fact: ACB was registered by Chuck
Norris until Tay Zonday and Michael
Moore battled it out for creative
control of the channel. Then we
stole it when no-one was looking.

ALI
I like to boogy.

CHRIS
Ali, I think you may have missed
the point.

ALI
Can;t that just be oonnne of the
facts? pewetty pewetty
PWWWWEEEEASEE?

BILL
Fine, give the baby his bottle

Ali is literally sucking on a bottle.

Bill rolls his eyes.

BILL
That was meant to be a metaphor.

CHRIS
Fact: when ACB launched, youtube
realized it was going to need
professional content to stay
afloat.

ALI
We should point out that we in no
way believe that the launch of ACB
and YouTube realizing that it was
going to run out of money have
anything to do with each other...
(clears throat). Nope... Nothing at
all.

BILL
ACB has been ruled a war crime and
the use of the videos in conflict
now violates the Geneva convention.

ALI
(Counting on his fingers)
Is that five?

CHRIS
Um... I think so.

BILL
Does it matter?

ALI
Good point.

BILL
(Annoncer voice)

Another Video...When?

As I write this know that we'll get to the next video when exams end June 19th. Then, the UK students will get their summer break of 4 days and 17 minutes before fall term.

Here's what we've all been doing.
Ali is knee deep in exams.
Chris is knee deep in exams.
I've taken on alphabetizing my dust according to colour and size.
